What is genuinely free

The big generalists first: Adobe Firefly and Canva both restyle interiors at no cost and return decent images. Then the AI decor tools that give a few trial renders before asking for a subscription. And finally the 3D planners — free, but they require you to draw the room yourself, which takes hours.

The limit none of them mention

An image generator redraws the whole scene on every render. With no explicit constraint it crops, straightens, and invents an opening because the composition looks better that way. Their own users write it in reviews: "their renderings will unrealistically move windows, doors, room structures". For decorating your own home that does not matter. For a listing photo it is the entire problem.

Why it matters on a listing and not at home

NAR’s Code of Ethics, Article 12, requires members to present a true picture in their advertising, and many MLSs add their own disclosure rules. The exposure runs to whoever published the listing, never to the software vendor. The working rule: you may show what can be moved in, never redraw what was built.

What Roomstill costs, and why it is not free

A tool that gives away many of them loses money on every non-paying user; that is documented in this exact niche, where the category leader was losing $1,688 a month six days after launch. We would rather be paid and honest: €7.99 for forty renders, one-time, no account to create. And a failed render refunds its credit.
